Cedar Swamp

PIE LTER year 2013, 15 minute measurements of conductivity, water temperature in a small headwater stream draining a mainly wetland catchment (49% wetlands/swamp + 36% forest), Bear Br., draining Cedar Swamp, Reading, MA.

Abstract:

Year 2013, continuous measurements, every 15 minutes were made of conductivity, water temperature in Bear Brook in Reading, MA, a small headwater stream draining Cedar Swamp, a mainly wetland catchment (49% wetlands and swamp + 36% forest) in the Ipswich River watershed.

Methods:

Conductivity and water temperature were measured using a HOBO datalogger suspended inside a perforated PVC pipe in the center of the stream channel.

Specific conductance was calculated using a conductivity assistant in the HOBOware software.

NOTES AND COMMENTS:
The datalogger failed between September 24, 2013 and October 16, 2013. Logger was taken out of service on October 16, 2013 and replaced on December 30, 2013.

FLAGS:
1 -- Datalogger not deployed
2 -- Datalogger malfunction
