HOBO data loggers were used exclusively this year to monitor stage height and water temperature
HOBO: Depth and water temperature are recorded by the HOBO data logger. Depths are corrected for barometric pressure changes using readings in an additional HOBO datalogger deployed at Marshview Farm. The HOBO is deployed in a a PVC tube, which was attached to ree-bar driven into the stream bed. The PVC tube has holes drilled to allow adequate water circulation.
NOTES AND COMMENTS:
Beaver activity downstream of the datalogger severely restricted flow for much of 2010. The dam seems to have been breached in October 2010. The rating curve appears to have changed as a result of the beaver dam, and discharge measurements collected after the breaching of the dam do not correspond to the rating curve that was established before the dam was built. New data points are being collected to create a new rating curve. We did not include discharge estimates at this time, but once a new rating curve has been created, we plan to update this data sheet with a best estimate of discharge during the year.
Flags:
1-- Discharge will be updated when a new rating curve is developed.
