This study was conducted in the Fall of 2000, by Governor's Academy high school science class students with their teacher Susan Oleszko-Zsuts to look at the annual presence and absence of marsh plants in the tidal marsh near the Governor's Academy school campus. The marsh is brackish and is located off Middle Road in Newbury , MA , near Thurlow's Bridge.
Plant species presence or absence were documented along transects at one meter intervals.
NOTES AND COMMENTS: Locations of the creek edges of the transects may change because of erosion, ice scouring. Transect #1- Missing 20m (180-200)- "This may be because we were in a hurry, or it may be that the next group started from where they left off." Transect #7- Meters 17+18- "Mud"
